Also, if you come across a carpet or a rug that has trimmed edges, it means its sides have been cut by the salesman and since the borders mark the essence of the antique carpets, you should consider looking at some other carpet.4. Always check the carpet for moth attacks and holes as such things are very common in antique carpets and rugs.5. An antique carpet store with prices that are marked on the carpets should be preferred. Many dealers tell different prices to different people. For instance, a price of a certain carpet may be different when told to a foreigner in order to get more profit. This habit of the dealers should be discouraged.
